Leaders in measurement-driven cosmetic care.
Healthy skin,
in the right order.
Victorian Cosmetic Institute is a doctor-led clinic with a simple philosophy: healthy skin comes first.
-
1. Skin Quality
We start here. Healthy, well-functioning skin is the base every result is built on — its texture, tone, hydration and resilience. Before anything else, we focus on improving the quality of the skin itself: calming redness, refining texture, restoring clarity and strength. When the skin is healthy, everything we do afterward works better and lasts longer.
-
2. Skin Laxity
Next, we address how the skin and the structures beneath it hold their shape. As collagen and elastin decline, skin loosens and the face begins to lose its support. We work to restore firmness and lift — strengthening the foundation — so the face is supported from within before any volume is considered.
-
3. Skin Volume
Last, and only where it’s genuinely needed. Rather than filling for the sake of it, we restore volume conservatively, in balance with skin that’s already healthy and well-supported. The result is natural definition that complements the face, never overwhelms it.

Healthy Skin
This is where it all leads. When skin quality, laxity and volume are each addressed in turn, they work together — and the result is skin that’s genuinely healthy, not just changed.
Measured at every step.
We examine your skin in context: expression, movement, structure, quality.
We create a baseline and track your progress over time.
Conservative, individual, focused on long-term skin health.
We review results and refine the plan as your skin responds.
A closer look.
CO2 Laser · 3 months between images
Three months after Co2 laser resurfacing, improvements are already visible. The skin appears smoother, more even in tone, and fine lines are reduced. Some residual redness can still be seen, which is a normal part of the healing process that continues to fade over time.
One of the unique aspects of Co2 laser treatment is that results continue to develop. This is because the treatment stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, which remodels and strengthens the skin over several months.
Every patient’s healing journey is different, but with time, results typically become more refined as the skin continues its regeneration process.
Co2 laser is just one of ways we address skin texture, pigmentation, wrinkles and skin tightening.
A doctor-led team.
Victorian Cosmetic Institute was founded in 2005 by Dr Gavin Chan, and has been led by doctors ever since. It’s a distinction that shapes everything we do — from how we assess, to what we recommend, to when we say no.
Alongside Dr Chan, our team of doctors, nurses, and practitioners share the same standards and the same measurement-driven approach to care.

What makes your testing different from a standard skin consultation?
Most skin consultations rely on visual assessment alone. We use clinical tools including Visia skin analysis, 3D imaging, and standardised photography to create an objective, measurable baseline of your skin. That means our recommendations are based on what we can document and measure, not just what we can see in the moment.
Are the tests invasive?
No. Our assessment tools are completely non-invasive. Visia analysis and clinical photography involve positioning your face in front of an imaging device, nothing touches your skin. 3D imaging captures your face using light and cameras. There’s no discomfort involved.
Can I start treatment without doing the tests?
We strongly recommend completing the assessment process before starting any treatment. The baseline it creates is what allows us to track your progress accurately and make evidence-based decisions about your care. Without it, we’re working without a reference point.
Who reviews my results?
Your results are reviewed by the practitioner managing your care, whether that’s a doctor, nurse, or skin therapist. For more complex concerns, results may also be reviewed by Dr Chan or another senior clinician. Every recommendation is made within the same clinical framework.
How often do you retest?
It depends on the treatment plan. Most patients are re-measured at key intervals throughout their plan, typically before each new phase of treatment and at follow-up appointments. This allows us to track progress, confirm what’s working, and adjust the plan based on real evidence.
Can I access my results?
Yes. Your imaging and analysis results are part of your clinical record. We’re happy to walk you through your results at any appointment, and you can request access to your records at any time.
What if the tests reveal a deeper issue?
If our assessment identifies a concern that falls outside the scope of cosmetic medicine, we’ll let you know and recommend the appropriate next step, whether that’s a referral to a dermatologist, GP, or other specialist. Your health and safety always come first.
How soon will I see results?
It depends on the treatment. Some treatments produce visible change within days or weeks. Others, particularly collagen-stimulating treatments, produce gradual improvement over months. Because we measure at intervals, we can show you exactly how your skin is responding rather than relying on general estimates.
